Browser ports: questions
What is a browser port?
A browser port is a PC game whose original code has been converted to run inside a web page, usually with WebAssembly (for the game code) and WebGL (for 3D graphics). You play the real game in a browser tab instead of installing it.
Are these browser ports free?
Yes. Every game on this page is free to play online. Some games also need you to own the original files, and their page tells you when that is the case.
Do browser ports work on a Chromebook or school computer?
Most of them do, since they only need a modern browser. If a 3D game stutters, turn on hardware acceleration in your browser settings: our guide shows how in one minute.
Can I save my progress?
Yes. Games keep their saves in your browser, so you can come back later on the same device. PlayTab Premium adds cloud saves so you can continue on another computer or phone.
